Go to the Other Side – The Decapolis

by Robert

Last night (Wednesday) I continued my study on what it meant to be a disciple of Jesus and what it continues to mean today.

In the Gospel of Mark, chapters 4-6, it allows us to catch a glimpse of the new authority that Jesus was showing His disciples. He took them “across to the other side”. The area of the Decapolis was on the other side. Decapolis means 10 cities and it was the area where 7 pagan nations lived.

A good Jew never went over there.

As Jesus was training his talmadin (disciples) He wanted them to know that the Kingdom of God was for everyone.

Read the account here in the gospel of Mark.

Question – who does God want you to share His story with?

What does it mean to be a disciple of Jesus? How is this possible when he has ascended and you are now living on earth?
