Random thoughts on the eve of a new year
- it is so hard to believe that we are in the closing hours of 2009.
- I am excited for 2010! I believe that God has great things in store this year!
- I was able to visit my father’s grave yesterday. He has been gone for over 27 years. Yesterday I had one of the hardest times at the cemetery. Maybe it was because it was so close to the holidays. Yesterday was a day that I really missed him.
- I am thankful for my bonus dad that God gave me 18 years ago! He has supported me and encouraged me through these years. He is a real dad.
- On January 10 we are starting a series at the Gospel Center that we are calling one month to live. I really want us to understand the brevity of life and the importance of knowing where we are with God. We have some exciting plans for the opening of this series!
- We had our fourth (I think) snowfall last night!
- Going to my first ever Lebanon bologna drop tonight! Some places drop balls, Lebanon drops bologna!
- Planning on starting another Discover Recovery group at the Gospel Center in January. This group is going to focus on addictions.
- Excited about what God is doing at the Gospel Center!
- Happy New Year!

I am still shocked at how fast this past year as gone! I was really suprised at how many times we got snow this year as well!! I love the beauty of it and today was by far the best! It is so nice out and you can REALLY enjoy the weather! Alex and I made a snowman and had many snowball fights! haha Have fun at the Bolonga Drop… it is a party in the cold thats for sure! They have a DJ playing music and people like to dance to keep warm… at least thats what I always tried to do! lol Hope you have a wonderful evening! God Bless you tonight and into the new year!!
We are looking forward to experiencing the drop for the first time! Should be a unique way to ring in the new year.
Robert,
I’m reading “The Last Addiction: Why Self Help Is Not Enough” by Sharon Hersh. The author is in recovery (for a number of addictions herself) and gives insight as a former addict and current LPC. Its a good read.

Thanks Andrew. Any other recommendations I can pass on to those who will be facilitating the group?
