On this date, February 21, 1945, Eric Liddell passed away. You may remember him from the film, Chariots of Fire. He refused to run in heats on Sunday. In 1924, he won an Olympic medal. He died in China as a missionary and according to a fellow missionary, Liddell’s last words were, “It’s complete surrender”, in reference to how he had given his life to his God.
