On this date, March 21, 1556, Bishop James Ussher died. He is the one who proposed that the world was created in 4004 BC. A famous Bible scholar, he was also professor of Trinity College in Dublin, Chancellor of St. Patrick’s Cathedral in Dublin and Archbishop of Armagh.

Ussher’s material is still used among some creationists today.
