On this date, April 21, 1855, Sunday school teacher Edward Kimball visited the Holton Shoe Store where Dwight L. Moody worked. As the story is told, Kimball found Moody in a stockroom and spoke to him about the love of Christ. Shortly thereafter, Moody was converted and devoted his life to serving God. Moody went on to become a preacher who was used mightily by God.

Here are several quotes from Moody.

“This book (the Bible) will keep you from sin or sin will keep you from this book.”

“Character is what you are in the dark.”

“If I take care of my character, my reputation will take care of me.”
