On this date, May 5, 1861, Frances Willard along with her sister were baptized.

Frances is famously known for prohibition and the rights of women. She was president of the WCTU which is the  Women’s Christian Temperance Union, for nineteen years. She tirelessly pushed for prohibition and women’s rights resulting in the Eighteenth and Nineteenth amendments of the United States Constitution.
