On this date, May 31, 1700, Alexander Cruden was born. Nicknaming himself “Alexander the Corrector” he compiled a new Bible concordance—a dictionary of words that appear in the Bible, showing in what verses they can be found. Many years later, Cruden’s Concordance is still a utilized Bible reference tool.
