On this date, June 3, 1911, Arthur Tappan (A. T.) Pierson died. He was a preacher and a writer  and wrote over fifty books. He was friends with many of the early evangelical leaders including C. I. Scofield, D. L. Moody, George Müller, A. J. Gordon, and C. H. Spurgeon.  He wrote a biography on George Muller and was the one who Spurgeon succeeded from 1891 to 1893.
