On this date, June 24, 1828, John Allen (J. A.) Wood was born. Born in Fishkell New York, he was converted at age 10 and joined the Methodists when he was 13. Later, he became a disciple of Phoebe Palmer and was one of the founders of the National Camp Meeting Association for the Promotion of Holiness. The first National Camp Meeting was in Vineland NJ and the second was in Manheim PA. Over 20,000 attending the one in Manheim. His book, Perfect Love, became one of the most influential books on Sanctification and is still available today.
