On this date, September 3, 1829, Orange Scott was converted. Scott was a Methodist minister and presided over the convention that organized the new Wesleyan Methodist Connexion in 1843.

One of the things that I admire about Scott is that he believed and preached that holy hearts should result in holy lives. And the result of that is that holy men should seek to bring an end to social evils.
