On this date, January 21, 1947, E. E. Shelhamer died. A Holiness preacher and author, he was converted under the ministry of Vivian Dake. Among the books Shelhamer wrote or edited were Life and Labors of Auntie Coon, Heart talks to Ministers and Christian Workers, and Finney on Revival. He wrote many pamphlets and tacts and one of his most widely circulated pamphlets was Five Reasons Why I Do Not Seek the Gift of Tongues.
